Member Benefits...
The Columbia Club of Northern New Jersey* was created in 1980 to enable alumni who live in Northern New Jersey to join together in hosting members of the Columbia faculty who present lectures of interest. The subject material has included politics, international affairs, science, economics, the arts, Columbia athletics, journalism, law and religion.
We have added the purchase of tickets on a group basis to local theatrical events including plays, symphony concerts and museum tours. In recent years we began to assist alumni in their professional development by running programs focused on that need. In general, the club runs eight to ten programs each year.
Those who pay club dues get a discounted price to these programs for themselves and their guests. The club also sponsors a "Happy Hour" on the first Wednesday of each month at a restaurant that is announced in the club President's monthly email newsletter that reaches 7,500 known email addresses in our area.
* A separate club serves alumni in Bergen, Passaic and Rockland
